The Opportunity

We are representing a leading healthcare institution based in the greater Dublin area in their search for a highly accomplished Head of Human Resources. This is a critical executive-level appointment responsible for driving the people strategy within a significant, fast-paced clinical environment. Our client is a centre of excellence with a substantial workforce, seeking a strategic partner to lead their HR function through a period of continued development and operational growth.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the executive leadership team, the successful candidate will provide robust HR leadership, ensuring the delivery of best in class people services and a high-performance culture across the organization. This role requires a blend of strategic foresight and operational excellence, managing the entire HR function for a large, multidisciplinary team of 500 + employees.

Responsibilities of the Role:

✔️Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization’s mission, focusing on workforce planning, organizational development, and change management.

✔️Operational Management: Direct the day-to-day operations of the HR function, ensuring best-in-class service delivery, policy development, and compliance.

✔️Employee Relations: Lead on complex ER matters, including disciplinary, grievance, and investigation processes, ensuring full adherence to current Irish employment legislation.

✔️Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key advisor to the Consultant and Leadership teams, facilitating effective communication and fostering a supportive, high-accountability environment.

✔️Documentation & Reporting: Oversee the production of high-quality, professional-standard contracts, reports, policies, and board-level correspondence.

Candidate Profile:

✔️Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management (or a related discipline) and active membership with the CIPD.

✔️Experience: A proven track record in a senior management capacity (minimum 3 years) within a large, complex HR department (minimum 5 years total senior experience).

✔️Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams; you must be an impactful communicator with the ability to influence at an executive level.

✔️Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an unrelenting attention to detail.

Desirable Criteria:

✔️Post-graduate qualification in Employment Law or a related field.

✔️Previous experience at a senior management level specifically within the Irish health service, HSE, or a similar setting is highly desirable.
